GF54.50-P-2009SX Average Speed, Function

GF54.50-P-2009SX Average Speed, Function
- up to model year 08

Average speed "as of start" (short-distance memory)
The average speed since the start is shown

Average speed "as of reset" (long-distance memory)
The average speed since the last reset is shown.

The trip computer (RRE) can display the average transportation speed. The display takes place as of position 2 (circuit 15 ON) of the transmitter key (A8/1), if the menu item "Trip" is called up. Whether the display takes place in kilometers or miles depends on the coding of the national version of the instrument cluster (A1). The value displayed is updated 1/s. Once the menu item "Trip" has been activated via the system selection button (S110s3) of the multifunction steering wheel (MFL), by pressing the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) of the multifunction steering wheel the average speed "After start" or "After reset" is shown in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster. The trip computer determines the average speed on the basis of the travel distance covered and the trip time.

The travel time is calculated in the instrument cluster and the driven travel distance is determined from the 4 wheel speeds. The signals are placed on the chassis CAN by the ESP control unit (N47-5), passed on to the central gateway (N93) control unit and transmitted to the instrument cluster via the central CAN.

Different values may be shown in the display screen of the short-distance memory and that for the long-distance memory, as both displays access different data records. The display of the short-distance memory responds significantly more sensitively to the current driving situation than the display for the long-distance memory.
