The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) monitors all relevant inputs for their non-actuated state
If it detects a change of state in one of the monitored inputs, it triggers a country-specific acoustic and visual alarm. The acoustic signals are output by the alarm signal horn (H3) The visual signals are output country-specific by means of the exterior lights.
The driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10) is the master control unit for the ATA. The ATA is activated or deactivated with the transmitter key (A8/1) parallel to locking or unlocking the central locking. Actuation of the ATA is indicated by a flashing LED integrated into the lock CL interior switch and ATA function indicator (S6/5s3).
The ATA, when armed, monitors:

^ Trunk lid
^ Engine hood
^ Glove compartment
^ Center console compartment
^ Left and right rear boxes
^ Alarm signal horn
^ Position changes of vehicle
^ Motions in interior compartment (with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only))
On vehicles with code (763) Radio remote control with panic switch, an alarm can also be triggered manually.
