GF80.50-P-2002R Activate Anti-Theft Alarm System, Function
GF80.50-P-2002R Activate Anti-Theft Alarm System, Function
Component Identification:
Activate anti-theft alarm (ATA)
^ Locking central locking (CL) with transmitter key
^ Locking CL with relocking function
^ Lock via Keyless Go (KG) (on vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go)
^ Automatic activation (only (B))
When the transmitter key is removed and the driver door or the trunk is opened and closed again, the ATA is activated automatically 120 s after the last door or the trunk lid is closed, regardless of the status of the vehicle central locking.
Partial activation of ATA
The tow-away protection or interior protection (with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only)) can be switched off for the next activation of the ATA.
Switching off anti-towing function
Actuate TS OFF switch (N72s22) to switch off tow-away protection.Switching off the tow-away protection is confirmed by the LED in the TS OFF switch flashing for approx. 2 s.
Switch off interior protection
Actuate IMS OFF switch (N72s21) to switch off interior protection.Switching off the inner protection is confirmed by the LED in the IMS OFF switch flashing for approx. 2 s.
Alarm inputs
The ATA evaluates the following alarm inputs:
^ ATA [EDW] inclination sensor
^ Alarm signal horn
^ Left door contact switch
^ Right door contact switch
^ ATA [EDW] left engine hood switch
^ ATA [EDW] right engine hood switch
^ Left rear box ATA [EDW] switch
^ Right rear box ATA [EDW] switch
^ Glove compartment switch
^ Pawl rotary tumbler switch
^ Center console stowage compartment ATA [EDW] switch
^ Interior protection transmitter and receiver
The status of the alarm inputs is checked cyclically. If the checks indicate the non-actuated state within approx. 10 s, the corresponding inputs are switched ready for alarm. Alarm inputs switched to non-actuated state later, are also armed after approx. 10 s.
Tow-away protection
The tow-away protection is activated approx. 25 s after activating the ATA.If one or more doors or the trunk lid is open, the ATA inclination sensor is activated after approx.25 s after the last door or the trunk lid is closed.
Interior protection (with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only))
The interior protection is activated approx. 10 s after the last door, the center stowage compartment and the trunk lid are closed.
Alarm signal horn
The alarm signal horn is activated and ready for alarm immediate after the vehicle is locked. Its status is checked cyclically by the driver-side SAM control unit.
If the alarm signal horn recognizes the loss of the supply voltage or communication to the driver-side SAM control unit, it outputs an autonomous acoustic alarm (not United States Of America and Japan as of 1.12.06).
Rearming remote trunk release
If the trunk lid is closed again after opening the remote trunk release, the ATA is set to the same status as before opening The ATA inclination sensor and the interior protection transmitter and receiver are reactivated.
Special case: Driver door
If the driver door is not closed when the ATA is activated, the driver-side SAM control module recognizes this and stores the information "Driver door open" on the CAN B.
When the driver door is closed, it remains unlocked so that a transmitter key cannot be unintentionally locked in the vehicle. The ATA is activated and the information "Driver door open" is stored.
Interior protection with Vario roof open
The interior protection can also be activated when the Vario roof is open. This function can be set in the menu in the instrument cluster (A1).
On Netherlands vehicles, the interior protection is activated regardless of the status of the Vario roof, if the IMS OFF switch has not been deactivated previously.
Interior protection with open center stowage compartment
The interior protection transmitter and receiver is installed in the cover in the center stowage compartment. If the cover in the center stowage compartment is not closed correctly when arming the ATA, the interior protection transmitter and receiver cannot fulfill its function. The interior protection is not activated. The rear SAM control module recognizes this state via the center console stowage compartment ATA switch and transmits this information to the driver-side SAM control module via CAN B. This transmits the information to the instrument cluster via CAN B. An appropriate warning message appears in the instrument cluster.
Automatic relocking
If the vehicle is unlocked and neither a door nor the trunk lid is opened within 40 s, the vehicle relocks automatically. Automatic relocking is recognized by the driver-side SAM control unit.It arms the ATA to the same status as before the last opening operation.
Comfort closing special case
The central locking is a convenience function allowing the driver to close the windows and the Vario roof with the transmitter key. When this convenience function is activated, the ATA can already be in the arming phase or is already armed. It is necessary to deactivate the interior protection for the duration of the convenience function so that the movements of the windows and the Vario roof do not cause erroneous alarms. If all windows and the Vario roof are closed, the interior protection is rearmed.
Feedback after successful activation
Visual
The function LED in the interior CL lock switch flashes when the ATA is activated.
Feedback after successful activation
Acoustic (only Netherlands)
The alarm signal horn outputs an acoustic feedback by buzzing briefly three times.
If one door is not properly closed during ATA [EDW] activation, no feedback will be given.
