Function
When a speed of 3 km/h is exceeded, the exterior actuation trunk lid switch (S88/8) is deactivated.
When a speed of 15 km/h is exceeded, the doors are also locked. The instrument cluster transmits the speed signal via CAN B bus. The pneumatic control unit actuates the corresponding pneumatic actuators depending on the speed.

The initial status is achieved again by opening a door or switching circuit 15 on and off again.

The status of the doors is read in by the rear SAM control unit via the door contact switch.
If the vehicle is unlocked with the 'unlock CL [SV] interior switch after automatic locking, the vehicle remains unlocked even at speeds above the limit value.

The automatic locking function can be deactivated or activated:
^ via the STAR DIAGNOSIS system or
^ via the control menu in the instrument cluster.
