Function requirements
^ Terminal 15 ON

Automatic transmission gear indicator
The current gear and the current transmission mode are displayed in the right multifunction display (A1p15). The drive position is shown on the left side and the transmission mode on the right side of the display. The gear indicator consists of two digits. The display shows the selected gear (1 to 5) or the selector lever position (D to P), and the selected transmission mode C (Comfort mode, Figure 2), S (Sport mode, Figure 3) or M (Manual mode with optional steering column gear shift, Figure 1).
The necessary data come over the engine compartment CAN from the ETC control module (N15/3).

The display panel remains dark if there are errors in the CAN signals.







Function requirements
^ Terminal 15 ON

SEQUENTRONIC gear indicator (sequential 6-speed manual transmission)
The current gear 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, N, R and the current transmission mode C, S, A are displayed in the right multifunction display (A1p15). The drive position is shown on the left side and the transmission mode on the right side of the display. The gear indicator consists of two digits. In addition, all the gears (1-6) are displayed in transmission mode A (Automatic mode) (Figures 4 and 5).
The data come over the engine compartment CAN from the automated manual transmission control module (N15/6).

Permanent system monitoring by the automated manual transmission control module (N15/6) detects any faults occurring. If a detected fault triggers the emergency default mode, the symbol "F" appears in the instrument cluster (A1) (Figure 6).

The display "0" is not shown; instead there is an additional text message: "Move gearshift lever to N".
