Function
The system is always switched to rain sensor mode when speed reduction is being used. If a rain sensor (B38) or rain/light sensor (B38/2) is defective, an interval of 7.5 sec. is selected.
If the vehicle speed drops to less than approx. 5 km/h, the driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10) switches the wiper motor (M6/1) down one level. The longest interval is selected for intermittent wiping.

If the vehicle speed increases to above approx. 8 km/h again, the driver-side SAM control unit (N10/10) automatically switches the wiper motor (M6/1) back to the wiper stage selected on the combination switch (S4).
A wipe request (intermittent, wiping at stage 1 or stage 2) cancels the speed reduction until the next time the speed drops below the speed threshold. Washing and touch wiping do not cancel the speed reduction.
