GF40.15-P-2005R Detection of Pressure Loss, Function

GF40.15-P-2005R Detection of pressure loss, function
- with CODE (477) Tire pressure loss warning

Warning message (red text)

This display appears while driving when the system has detected a difference between the rolling circumferences of the wheels relative to each other.

System reminder

This display appears if after a warning message the tire pressure loss warning (RDW) has not yet been restarted.

Function
The ESP, SPS [PML] and BAS control unit (N47-5) compares the 4 wheel speeds as a function of tire pressure. A learning phase follows reactivation. In this phase the relative rolling circumferences of the tires are taught in in 6 different vehicle speed intervals. The tire pressure loss warning is not active in this learning process. The coordination of the individual intervals takes 10 minutes/interval. As of this point in time the FL and RR and FR and RL are compared with each other respectively.

Warning messages
The tire pressure loss warning RDW has established while driving that the rolling circumferences of the wheels have changed relative to each other (considerable pressure loss in one tire).

Reminder message
This message is displayed in the left multifunction display (A1p13) and right multifunction display (A1p15) after a red warning message, when the tire pressure loss warning has not been reactivated after this.
