Windows and Glass: Description and Operation

GF67.39-P-3001R Opening/Closing Rear Window, Function

Opening/closing rear window, function
Additional prerequisite:
The rear side windows cannot be opened or closed until the front side windows are fully opened or closed.

There are three types of operation:
- Manual closing
- Automatic opening
- Short stroke function

The power window of the rear window (driver side) is operated in the left power window switch (S20/1s1) with the driver power window switch group (S20/1).
The power window of the rear window (passenger side) can be operated with the right power window switch (S20/1s2) in the driver power window switch group (S20/1) or with the passenger power window switch (S21/2).

The driver power window switch group (S20/1) has the highest priority and is therefore able to interrupt the operation activated by the passenger power window switch(S21/2).

The automatic lowering function opens the window fully; in the case of the manual closing function, the window moves up so long as the switch is operated.

Short stroke function
This function ensures that the doors and frameless side windows open and close without any problems. When the driver or passenger door is open, the relevant front and rear window is lowered by the short stroke position. So long as the short stroke is active, it is not possible to move the window up beyond the short stroke position, or to close it, also not with an operate request at the driver power window switch group (S20/1) or passenger power window switch(S21/2).
