GF88.79-P-2006R Passenger-side Outside Mirror Park Position, Function
- up to model year 08

Component Identification:

Function prerequisites
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
^ Circuit 15 or circuit 15R ON
^ Reverse gear engaged for 0.6 s
^ Left and right outside mirror adjustment selection switch (N72s8) in passenger-side mirror position
^ Position measurement supplies valid value
^ Function in instrument cluster (A1) activated

Function
In order to allow better observation of the distance to the edge of the curb when parking backwards, the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is automatically moved to the park position.

Operating procedure
The information reverse gear engaged is transmitted by the electronic selector lever module control module (N15/5) or by the automatic/manual transmission control module (N15/6) to the EIS control module (N73) via the CAN class C bus.The EIS control module (N73) transmits the information via CAN class B bus to the right door control module (N69/2), which takes over the actuation of the mirror adjustment motors in the park position of the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2)

If the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is in the park position when circuit 15 is switched off, the following is accomplished when circuit 15 is switched back on
^ It is moved to the original position if the transmission is not shift to reserve within 0.6 s or
^ it is moved to the park position stored for the transmitter key if the transmission is shifted into reverse after 0.6 s

Function abort
The right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is automatically moved the original position when
^ the transmission is not in reverse for 10 s or
^ the vehicle speed of 10 km/h is exceeded or
^ the changeover switch for the left or right outside mirror adjustment switch (N72s8) is moved to the driver's mirror position.

The park position function is terminated when the mirror is adjusted manually or by a program at any time
