Travel time display function
1 Text: "SINCE START: XXXXX km (miles)" or "SINCE RESET: XXXXX km (miles)"
A1p13 Left multifunction display
A1p15 Right multifunction display

The trip computer provides a travel time display
^ "SINCE START" (short-distance memory) and
^ "SINCE RESET" (long-distance memory)

The function is similar to that of a stopwatch.

The display, which varies according to unit setting (miles/ kilometers) and the national version code, appears in the instrument cluster (A1) as shown in the illustrations.

Travel time "SINCE START" (short-distance memory), function
^ Activate the "SINCE START" display using the system selection button (S110s3) and scroll forward/back button (S110s1) on the multifunction steering wheel.
^ The distance traveled since the last reset of the short- distance memory appears on the left multifunction display (A1p13).
^ Additional information also appears on the right multifunction display (A1p15):
- the average travel speed
- the elapsed time since the start of the journey
- the average fuel consumption.

Travel time "SINCE RESET" (long-distance memory), function
^ Activate the "SINCE RESET" display using the system selection button (S110s3) and scroll forward/back button (S110s1) on the multifunction steering wheel.
^ The distance traveled since the last reset of the long- distance memory appears on the left multifunction display (A1p13).
^ Additional information also appears on the right multifunction display (A1p15):
- the average travel speed
- the time since the reset
- the average fuel consumption

As periods are only timed with circuit 15: ON, the instrument cluster (A1) requires information on the status of circuit 15. The EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) transmits this information on the interior CAN, where it can be accessed by the instrument cluster (A1). The time is calculated internally in the instrument cluster (A1).

When the travel time or distance information exceeds the maximum available display (99:59 hours or 65,535 km (40,959 miles)) the system automatically resets the travel time and distance. This preserves the relationship between travel time and distance.
