GF46.15-P-2001CW Easy Entry/Exit, Steering Column Adjustment, Function
GF46.15-P-2001CW Easy Entry/Exit, Steering Column Adjustment, Function
- MODEL 204.0 /2
- with CODE (275) Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors) up to Model Year 8
Function requirements
^ Easy entry/exit activated in the instrument cluster (A1)
^ Steering column adjustment ready for operation
Function abort
^ Undervoltage or overvoltage
^ Adjustment request over steering column adjustment switch (S59) or a memory adjustment
General easy entry/exit, steering column adjustment function sequence
The function sequence consists of several subfunctions. These are:
^ Move to easy entry/exit position
^ Approach driving position
Move to easy entry/exit position function sequence
Any movement to the easy entry/exit position is activated by the driver seat control unit (N32/1), when:
^ The transmitter key (A8/1) is removed
^ The driver door is opened at circuit 15R or circuit 15C and the transmitter key not inserted
The circuit status is transmitted by the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) over the interior CAN. The driver door status is recorded and the left front door control unit (N69/1) transmitted over the interior CAN by evaluating the left front door rotary tumbler switch (A85s1).
Adjustment of the steering column takes place by actuating the steering column up/down adjustment motor (M20/2) from the driver seat control unit.
Move to drive position function sequence
Movement to the drive position is activated by the driver seat control unit when:
^ The driver door is closed with circuit 15 On
^ A change is made from circuit 30 to circuit 15C with the driver door closed
^ A change is made from circuit 15C to circuit 15R with the driver door closed
^ A change is made from circuit 15R to circuit 15 On with the driver door closed
The circuit status is transmitted by the electronic ignition lock control unit over the interior CAN. The driver door status is recorded and the left front door control unit transmitted over the interior CAN by evaluating the left front door rotary tumbler switch. Adjustment of the steering column takes place by actuating the steering column up/down adjustment motor from the driver seat control unit.
Repetition safeguard
Alternately inserting and removing the transmitter key will induce a change cycle between moving to the easy entry/exit position and the driving position. To prevent any overload, the number of cycles is limited to 5.
The counter is reset when the transmitter key is turned to circuit 15R or the driver door status is changed.
Activate/deactivate easy entry/exit
The easy entry/exit activated using the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and the right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) of the steering wheel over the 2nd. control level in the instrument cluster (only for code (442) Comfort multifunction steering wheel). The corresponding button group signals are sent over the steering LIN to the steering column module control unit and from there over the chassis CAN to the instrument cluster.
For vehicles without code (442) Comfort multifunction steering wheel the function can only be switched on using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
