Wipe stop in general
The wipe stop function serves to ensure that when the engine hood is opened, the wiper motor (M6/1) is not actuated by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
Wipe stop function sequence
If at a speed of v < 3 km/h an open engine hood is detected by the engine hood anti-theft alarm system switch (S62), the corresponding wipe function is immediately interrupted.
The wipe stop function is interrupted at a speed of v > 6 km/h, i.e. the wiper motor is actuated as from this speed again.
The front SAM control unit receives the signal for the vehicle speed from the instrument cluster (A1).
The open engine hood is recognized via the engine hood anti-theft alarm system switch, read in by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and sent over the interior CAN to the front SAM control unit.
