GF27.51-P-5105ACW Multidisk brake component description
- TRANSMISSION 722.618/640/646/695/699
Component Identification:
Location
Located in the transmission housing are 3 multidisk brakes as multidisk brake B1 (21), multidisk brake B3 (23) and multidisk brake B2 (22) for the planetary gear sets.
Task
For transmitting the drive torque the multidisk brake supports the ring gear, sun gear or planet carrier of a planetary gear set against the transmission housing.
Design
A multidisk brake consists of several internally toothed plates on an internal plate carrier and externally toothed plates on an external plate carrier. The external plate carrier is permanently connected to the transmission housing.
Function
If, on multidisk brake B1 (21), the piston B1 (21a) has oil pressure applied to it, it then pushes the internal and external toothed plates of the clutch pack together. The internal plate carrier B1 (21c) holds the front sun gear (29/1) on the transmission housing in place. The front planetary gears (29/2) roll on the front sun gear (29/1).
If the multi-disk brake B2 (22) is engaged via the piston B2 (22a), the piston compresses the clutch pack.
The internal plate carrier B2 (22c) holds the center sun gear (30/1) on the transmission housing in place.
The center planetary gears (30/2) roll on the center sun gear (30/1). If the multidisk brake B3 (23) is engaged through the piston B3 (23a), then the rear planet carrier (31/3) and the center ring gear (30/4) are held in place. The direction of rotation reverses when the multi-disk brake B3 (23) is engaged.
