The following operation steps are shown on model 204.9 with code (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation).

1 Route violet line (vi), brown line (br) and red/yellow line (rt/ge) of comfort telephony wiring harness, as shown, in slot of removed audio component.
2 Release lock (11) at black 44-pin coupling (9) and insert violet line (vi) in slot "13" at black 44-pin coupling (9).
If a violet line already exists in slot "13", connect it to violet line (vi) of comfort telephony wiring harness by means of potential distributor. The potential distributor can be found in the wiring harness repair kit.

3 Lock lock (11) at black 44-pin coupling (9).
4 Fix violet line (vi), brown line (br) and red/yellow line (rt/ge) of comfort telephony wiring harness in place on center console (2) using felt tape (arrow A).
5 Fix violet line (vi) of comfort telephony wiring harness in place on vehicle wiring harness using cable tie (arrow B).
6 Fix red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) of comfort telephony wiring harness to existing vehicle wiring harness (arrow D) using cable tie.






7 Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) of comfort telephony wiring harness, as shown, into left front footwell.
Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) behind hose (13).

8 Fix red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) in place with felt tape (arrow E).






9 Fix red/yellow line (rt/ge) and brown line (br) in place on cable of foot-operated parking brake (14) using cable ties (12).
10 Connect brown line (br) of comfort telephony wiring harness to left front footwell ground point (W15/5).
11 Form loops with excess length of brown line (br) next to left front footwell ground point (W15/5) and fix in place using cable tie (16).
12 Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) along vehicle wiring harness (17) upward to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and fix in place using cable ties (18).






13 Remove foam material (19) downwards.
The foam material is located at the duct for the vehicle wiring harness (17) to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.

14 Route red/yellow line (rt/ge) through opening behind foam material (19) in engine compartment to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
15 Fix red/yellow line (rt/ge) in place using cable ties at vehicle wiring harness (17).






16 Disconnect yellow 12-pin coupling (22) at front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
17 Insert red/yellow line (rt/ge) in slot "5" of yellow 12-pin coupling (22) (arrow C).
18 Connect yellow 12-pin coupling (22) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).






19 Fix antenna line (15), as shown, in place with felt tape under floor covering leading to cable duct (23).
20 Open cover of cable duct (23) and route antenna line (15) into this.
21 Route antenna line (15), as shown, along vehicle wiring harness (27) and fix in place using cable ties.
22 Close cover of cable duct (23).






23 Route antenna line (15), as shown, along vehicle wiring harness (27) to violet multifunction antenna coupling (28).
24 Connect violet antenna line plug (29) to violet multifunction antenna coupling (28) and create multifunction antenna electrical connector (A28/11x1).
25 Fix antenna line (15) in place using cable ties at vehicle wiring harness (27).
