Reduced Climate System Performance

To reduce the possibility of snow entering the air intake of the climate system and reducing the system performance, an updated cowling should be installed on vehicles that may be operated in severe winter conditions.

Replace cowling as per instructions below.

^ Remove windshield wiper.

^ Remove cowling

^ Install new cowling with the fine mesh screen.

^ If the blow motor is malfunctioning, replace blower motor. Refer to EPCnet for applicable part number.

Note:
When fitting the new cowling onto a MY2008: To replace the cowling on an early W204 (MY2008) for snow intrusion, the washer nozzle may not fit the latest cowling. This can be easily corrected by transferring the early nozzle holders from the original cowling to the later A204 830 2813 cowling. The early version nozzle holder can be identified by the smaller opening and also has an adjustment screw. To install the older version washer nozzles into the new cowling, remove the original cowling and nozzles then press the circled clips to remove the early and late holders. The clips can break easily so be careful. Remove the holders from the new late cowling the same way. Just snap everything back into place as needed and install the cowling.
