Component Identification:

Location
An overlap regulating valve is assigned to each shift group. The overlap regulating valve 1 - 2 or 4 - 5 (30a) is installed in the valve housing of the shift plate (2b), the overlap regulating valve 2 - 3 and 3 - 4 (30b, 30c) are installed in the valve housing of the shift plate (2a).

Tack
The overlap regulating valve regulates the pressure reduction during a shift phase.

Function
During the shift phase the pressure in the disengaging actuator is regulated depending on the modulating pressure (engine load) as well as on the pressure in the engaging actuator. The regulated compression is inversely proportional to the transmission capability of the engaging actuator (regulated overlap).
