The following installation procedure is described on the example of a vehicle with code (510) Audio 20 with CD changer.

Steps 1 to 3 only with vehicles with code (580) Automatic air conditioning
1 Starting at the foam material sheath (7), wind felt tape around approx. 1000 mm of the power supply wiring harness (1).
2 Route power supply wiring harness (1) through the cable duct of the center console (8) using a pull-through tool.
Route power supply wiring harness (1) parallel to previously installed antenna line (2).
3 Route power supply wiring harness (1), as shown, into slot of radio or navigation system at left side of selector lever module .
4 Route purple line (3) to black 44-pin connector (4) of radio.
5 Fix red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) to vehicle wiring harness (9) with cable ties.
6 Release fuse (10) at black 44-pin connector (4) and insert purple line (3) into slot "13" of connector "A" at the black 44-pin connector (4).
7 Lock fuse (10) at black 44-pin connector (4).
8 Route red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) of power supply wiring harness along broken line into left footwell as shown.
Route red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) behind hose (13).
9 Secure red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) with felt tape (11).
10 Secure red/yellow line (5) and brown line (6) to cable of foot-operated parking brake (14) with cable ties (12).
11 Attach brown line (6) of power supply wiring harness to left front footwell ground point (W15/5).
12 Place excess lengths of brown line (6) in loops next to the left front footwell ground point (W15/5) and secure with cable ties (16).
13 Route red/yellow line (5) along vehicle wiring harness (15) upwards to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and secure with cable ties (17).
14 Remove foam material (18) from below.
15 Route red/yellow line (5) through opening behind foam material (18) into engine compartment to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module.
16 Secure red/yellow line (5) to vehicle wiring harness (15) with cable ties.
17 Connect yellow connector "2I" (19) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
18 Insert red/yellow line (5) into slot "5" of yellow connector "2I" (19) (arrow).
19 Connect yellow connector "2I" (19) to front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
