GF80.20-P-4009CE Automatic Locking, Function
GF80.20-P-4009CE Automatic Locking, Function
Function requirements, general
^ Central locking (CL) unlocked
^ function activated with instrument cluster (A1) or left front door central locking interior actuation switch (S85/5)
Automatic locking, general
The CL is locked automatically under certain conditions.
The automatic locking function comprises the following partial functions:
^ Function sequence for locking CL, depending on vehicle speed
^ Function sequence for automatic relocking of CL
Function sequence for locking CL, depending on vehicle speed When the vehicle exceeds the limit for the vehicle speed of v = 3 km/h, the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) prevents the trunk lid (model 204.0) of liftgate (model 204.2/9) from being opened from the outside.
The status of the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) (model 204.0) or liftgate external operation switch (S88/8) (model 204.2/9), which defines the request "Open trunk lid or liftgate" is not provided by the rear SAM control unit via the interior CAN (CAN B). When the vehicle moves faster than v = 15 km/h, the doors are locked automatically.
The instrument cluster sends the information on the vehicle speed to the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) via the interior CAN. The electronic ignition lock control unit evaluates all relevant information and sends the locking request to the following control units via the interior CAN:
- Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) (up to 31.5.09)
- Left front door control unit (N69/1)
- Right front door control unit (N69/2)
- Left rear door control unit (N69/3) (as of 1.6.09)
- Right rear door control unit (N69/4) (as of 1.6.09)
The left front door control unit locks the left front door lock (A85) via the left front door central locking motor (A85m1).
The right front door control unit locks the right front door lock (A85/1) via the right front door central locking motor (A85/1m1).
Vehicles up to 31.5.09:
The front SAM control unit locks the left rear door lock (A85/3) over the left rear door central locking motor (A85/3m1) and the right rear door lock (A85/4) over the right rear door central locking motor (A85/4m1).
Vehicles as of 1.6.09: independently
The left rear door control unit locks the left rear door lock over the left rear door central locking motor.
The right rear door control unit locks the right rear door lock over the right rear door central locking motor.
Under the following conditions, the automatic CL locking function is canceled, i.e. the CL is unlocked:
- Open a door from inside
- Actuation of inside door handle central locking switch
- Change of circuit status c. 15
When the vehicle is unlocked by actuating the inside door handle central locking switch, it remains unlocked even above the limit for the vehicle speed.
It is not possible to open the trunk lid or liftgate from the outside even when the vehicle is standing still when it has been locked automatically previously by the CL.
If a door is opened while driving and then closed again, and the vehicle speed is above the limit for automatic locking, the door is locked again after it is closed.
Additional function requirements for automatic relocking
^ CL unlocked with transmitter key (A8/1)
Function sequence for automatic relocking
After the vehicle is unlocked with the transmitter key, a waiting time of t = 40 s starts
After expiration of this waiting time, the vehicle is relocked if a door or the trunk lid or liftgate has not been opened previously. Visual feedback is not performed.
The anti-theft alarm (ATA) (on vehicles with code (551) Antitheft alarm (ATA)) is also activated by the automatic relocking function.
On model 204.0/2 for Great Britain, the additional door lock is also activated.
