GF27.50-P-2100ACW Planetary gear set component description
- TRANSMISSION 722.618/640/646/695/699
Component Identification:
Location
3 planetary gear sets are used to achieve the individual transmission ratios. These are located in the mechanical part of the transmission as the front, center and rear planetary gear set (29, 30, 31).
Task
The planetary gear sets serve power flow and the formation of different gear ratios.
Component Identification:
Design
A planetary gear set consists of the ring gear (1), the planetary gears (2) mounted in the planet carrier (4) and the sun gear (3).
Function
The ring gear (1) and sun gear (3) elements of a planetary gear set are alternately driven and braked by the actuating elements of the multi-disk clutch and multi-disk brake. The planet gears (2) can turn on the internal toothing of the ring gear (1) and on the external gearing of the sun gear (3). This allows for a variety of gear ratios and the reversal of the rotation direction without the need for moving gear wheels or shift collars.
The torque conversion and rpm conversion takes place corresponding to the lever ratios or the ratio of the number of teeth of the driven to the driving gear wheels and is designated as the gear ratio i. With several planetary gear sets connected behind each other the overall ratio is given by the multiplication of part ratios.
If 2 components of the planetary gear set are connected rigidly with one another, the planetary gear set is locked and turns as a closed unit.
Advantages of a planetary gear set:
- Shifting ability under load
- Several ratios can be produced
- Constant meshing of the gears
- Simple direction reversal
- High efficiency
- Coaxial location of input and output
- Compact design
Gear ratio options:
The following gear ratio options are possible:
- Sun gear (3) held
- Driven ring gear (1)
- Driven planet carrier (4)
- Relatively low step-down ratio
Gear ratio options:
- Ring gear (1) held
- Driven sun gear (3)
- Driven planet carrier (4)
- Relatively high step-down ratio
Gear ratio options:
- Blocking of two elements with each other, so that the planetary gear set rotates as a unit and direct power flow results (i = 1).
