GF82.60-P-2001QKU Radio Mode, Function
- with CODE (494) USA version

Component Identification:

Radio reception
With model 209.3, the amplifier module 2, window antenna (A2/72) and the amplifier module 3, window antenna (A2/73) receive the frequency-modulated and amplitude-modulated radio frequency signals, filter out the frequencies of the radio frequency bands and amplify them.
With model 209.4, the left antenna amplifier module (A2/64) and right antenna amplifier module (A2/65) receive the frequency-modulated radio frequency signals, filter out the frequencies of the radio frequency bands and amplify them. The amplitude-modulated radio frequency signals are received in model 209.4 by the AM trunk lid antenna (A71/1), filtered, and amplified by the AM trunk lid antenna amplifier (A2/16).

The amplified signals are subsequently sent to the radio receiver via a coaxial cable. The radio receiver demodulates the signals, in other words it separates the useful information (audible frequencies) from the carrier signal (inaudible). The demodulated audio signals are amplified and converted into sound signals by the vehicle speakers.

Different ways of tuning in stations:
^ Tuning using station preset
^ Tuning by program type list
^ Tuning via frequency list
^ Tuning by station search
^ Tuning by station search with the multifunction steering wheel (MFL)
^ Tuning by search (the stations of a waveband are played for 8 seconds)
^ Tuning by means of manual frequency entry (using radio (A2) control panel)

Satellite digital audio radio (satellite radio) (SDAR) (with code (536) SIRIUS satellite radio)
The SDAR control unit (N87/5) decodes the S-band satellite signals received by the SDAR antenna (A2/82) and then forwards them to the radio (A2) via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST). The satellite radio function can be called up in the audio menu.
It is possible to receive digital satellite stations. The prerequisite is that this has been enabled by a network provider. If the system is enabled, between 100 and 224 additional stations can be received.

Since modification year 07/1 the SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) has been used, which is now also available for vehicles with code (460) Additional parts, Canadian vehicles. The SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) differs from previous generations through the following features:
^ Shorter response times
^ Improved reception properties
^ Temperature and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) properties have been optimized
