GF82.85-P-3113-01QOU Satellite Radio, Task

GF82.85-P-3113-01QOU Satellite Radio, Task
- with CODE (536) SIRIUS satellite radio

The SDAR control unit (N87/5) decodes the S-band satellite signals received by the SDAR antenna (A2/82) (up to 31.5.06) or the SDAR antenna (A2/49a4) (as of 1.6.06) and then forwards them via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) (with code 530) COMAND APS USA (with navigation system)) or to the radio (A2). The function of the satellite radio can, if equipped, be called up at the COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) using the SAT button or in the corresponding menu of the radio (A2).

The "Satellite radio" function is planned as factory-installed special equipment in the vehicle. Thus, not only the complete wiring is installed in the vehicle, but also the SDAR antenna (A2/82) (up to 31.5.06) or the SDAR antenna (A2/49a4) (as of 1.6.06) and the SDAR control unit (N87/5).

Since modification year 07/1 the SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) has been used, which is now also available for vehicles with code (460) Additional parts, Canadian vehicles. The SDAR control unit (N87/5) (3rd generation) differs from previous generations through the following features:
^ Shorter response times
^ Improved reception properties
^ Temperature and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) properties have been optimized
