Remove/Install

Danger! Risk of explosion caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries.
No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery acid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.


1. Disconnect battery ground cable
2. Remove upper control panel control unit.
3. Remove pushbutton control unit
4. Remove bolts (1)
5. Withdraw radio (A2)
6. Detach coupling from radio (A2)

7. Cover fiber optic cable
With "portable CTEL" UPCI system code 388, with Sound system code 810, with 6-disc CD changer code 819, with voice control system (VCS) code 813

Note: Install caps on fiber optic cable connector and equipment connection.

8. Install in the reverse order
9. Perform basic programming

10. Read out fault memory and erase
Faults stored due to simulations, or cables being disconnected for assembly / testing operations, must be processed and erased from the fault memories after the work is completed.
Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory
