Component Identification:

Washer nozzles and washer nozzle hose heaters, function
The washer nozzle heater (R2/1) and washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11) are switched on automatically when:

^ Circuit 61 ON (engine running) and
^ an outside temperature less than 5 �C is detected.

Switch off is accomplished automatically when:

^ Circuit 61 OFF (engine OFF) or
^ an outside temperature of more than 8 �C is detected.

In the event of no or implausible values (outside temperature, circuit 61) the heating elements are not actuated.

Actuation of heating elements
All heating elements for the washer nozzle heater (R2/1) and washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11) are connected in parallel. The washer nozzle heater (R2/1) and washer nozzle hose heater (R2/11) are actuated directly by the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1). During this process, the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) switches circuit 30 to the heating elements.

Required data
^ The outside temperature is measured by the outside temperature display temperature sensor (B14). The front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) reads in the outside temperature display temperature sensor (B14) directly.
^ The status of circuit 61 (alternator (G2)) is also read in directly by the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
