AZ82.70-P-0005-02QQA Retrofit Hands-Free System Wiring Harness
- with CODE (354) CTEL antenna (GSM 900 and 1800 MHz)


With COMAND

1 Expose connector for telephone handset (A34) in radio shaft.
2 Connect antenna for telephone handset (A34) to antenna line of PSC adapter.

Use provided antenna adapter if necessary (depending on vehicle version).







3 Attach VDA connecting cable (5) to hands-free system interface box (3).







4 Route connecting cable (5) from hands-free system interface box (3) to exposed CTEL separation point (X39/37) in radio recess as shown in figure and connect.

Fasten cable in place using adhesive felt.







5 Detach standard coupling chamber A and B from COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and attach to power supply wiring harness. Attach intermediate coupling of wiring harness (20) to radio.

6 Prepare CAN wiring harness (4) as shown in figure.

7 Attach CAN wiring harness (4) to ICANI box (2) and connect ICANI connector (7) to free coupling on hands-free system interface box (3).
8 Route CAN wiring harness (4) to radio recess and fix in position with adhesive felt.







9 Detach standard coupling from COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) and disconnect connector housing from breaker point bracket (A). Place new connector housing (12) (enclosed with set) on standard wiring harness. Insert breaker point bracket (A) into new connector housing (12). Fit remaining connector housing to breaker point bracket (B) of CAN wiring harness (4).







10 Attach standard coupling to plug (11) of CAN wiring harness (4).
11 Attach intermediate coupling of CAN wiring harness (4) to remaining connector housing and attach to COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).







12 Connect microphone wiring harness (22) to connector coupling (MIC) in radio recess, route beneath glove box to right A-pillar and then upwards to headliner, fixing in position with adhesive felt.

In vehicles with head airbag, when routing it must be ensured at the top of the A-pillar that wiring harness is routed in front of head airbag tensioning strap (towards windshield).







13 Glue microphone (6) to mirror base with double-sided adhesive tape (included in parts kit) as shown in figure and connect.

Align microphone so that pickup opening points towards driver.


Component Identification:






14 Connect handsfree loudspeaker (21) to plug and route to front passenger knee bolster cover. Fit loudspeaker in prepared location.

Install using commercially available screws.
