Function
The mirror lens of the inside rearview mirror (A67) and the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) is electro-chromatically dimmable. This is realized by a layer of electrolyte gel in the mirror, which adjusts the permeability for light in increments depending on the voltage connected. The electronic circuitry in the inside rearview mirror (A67) senses the ambient light with the mirror dimming sensor toward front (A67h1) and light shining into the mirror with the mirror dimming toward rear sensor (A67h2).
The inside rearview mirror (A67) evaluates these input variables and transmits dimming information to the overhead control panel control module (N70), which places the message for dimming on the CAN-B bus (CAN-B).
The left door control module (N69/1) evaluates the dimming information and supplies the corresponding actuation voltage to the mirror dimming (M21/1h1) in the left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1).The dimming information from the inside rearview mirror (A67) is received by the overhead control panel control module (N70), which supplies the voltage to the mirror dimming circuitry (A67h3).
If the interior light is switched on during mirror dimming or the reverse gear is engaged, the dimming is canceled.
