GF82.00-P-2001TXA Wake-Up, Function
- with CODE (498) Japan version

Wake-up
The MOST ring can be activated either by turning the transmitter key (A8/1) to position "circuit 15R ON" (provided that the system had not been switched off before the transmitter key was removed) or using the "ON" button of the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3). All components then receive a wake-up signal from the audio gateway control unit (N93/1). Once the MOST ring has been activated via the wake-up signal, the components register themselves via the MOST ring. To do this, the audio gateway transmits light information via the MOST ring. If a component does not respond, it can also be activated optically.

This means that a defective wake-up line does not cause a MOST ring breakdown. If the MOST ring has been interrupted and the audio gateway does not receive a response within a certain time, the audio gateway makes several wake-up attempts.

Wake-up Diagnosis
The diagnostic wake-up can only be actuated when the optical ring cannot be activated due to an error.
In order to do this, the audio gateway is requested to transmit a diagnosis wake-up to the components by STAR DIAGNOSIS. This signal differs from the wake-up signal by the fact that it has a significantly longer duration. The components react by transmitting a signal on the wake-up line, one after the other.
If a component does not respond, the audio gateway and STAR DIAGNOSIS both know that it was not possible to activate this component. This means that only the wake-up line to the component needs to be checked, and if necessary the component itself and its voltage supply.
If all components register with the audio gateway, their voltage supplies are correct.
