Location
The HS [SIH] and seat ventilation control unit is located at the crossmember below the driver seat.

Task
The HS [SIH] and seat ventilation control unit is connected to the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) for data exchange purposes.

The HS [SIH] and seat ventilation control unit actuates, corresponding to the requests received via the CAN-B, the following functions:
^ the heated seats HS [SIH] for the driver and front passenger seat (on vehicles with code (401) Front deluxe seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation or with code (872) Electrically heated left and right rear seats)
^ the heated seats HS [SIH] for the left and right rear seats (with code (872) Electrically heated left and right rear seats)
^ the seat ventilation for the driver and front passenger seat (with code (401) Front deluxe seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation)
^ the steering wheel heater (LRH) (with code (443) Steering wheel heater)

Voltage supply
The following components are directly supplied with voltage by the HS [SIH] and seat ventilation control unit :
^ Left front seat heated cushion (R13/1)
^ Left front backrest heated cushion (R13/2)
^ Right front seat cushion heater element (R13/3)
^ Right front backrest seat cushion heater element (R13/4)

With code (401) Front deluxe seats, incl. seat heating and seat ventilation:
^ (N29/5) Left front seat ventilation blower regulator
^ Right front seat ventilation blower regulator (N29/6)

with code (443) steering wheel heate
^ Steering wheel heater electronics (A74)

With code (872) Electrically heated left and right rear seats:
^ Left rear seat heated cushion (R13/5)
