Location
The suction fan is located behind the radiator.

Task
The suction fan is used to cool the engine coolant and the air conditioning refrigerant.

Function
The request to actuate the suction fan:
^ on vehicles with a diesel engine from the CDI control unit (N3/9) or the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (without code (581) comfort automatic air conditioning) or from the comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (for code (581) comfort automatic air conditioning),
^ on vehicles with a gasoline engine from the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) or from the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit or from the comfort AAC control and operating unit.

The CDI control unit or ME-SFI [ME] control unit actuates the suction fan.
