Location
The steering wheel heater switch is located in the steering column module (N80).

Task
The steering wheel heater is controlled by the steering wheel heater switch. The status display is furnished by the integra1steering wheel heater indicator lamp (S59/1e1).

The steering column module monitors the position of the steering wheel heater switch and transfers the corresponding information to the Controller Area Network Class B bus (interior) (CAN-B).

The position data are transmitted periodically for as long as the steering wheel heater switch is active (turned up or down). The steering column module does not transmit data when the switch is at its center position.
