SUBJECT: All Models, as of Model Year 2008, Equipped with Satellite Radio
Audio Interruptions/Mutes on Certain Satellite Radio Channels

As part of the SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio Merger, additional paid-subscription channels will be offered to current and new SIRIUS XM subscribers. SIRIUS XM is currently conducting transmission testing within their programming broadcast that requires using additional Radio Frequency RF bandwidth. This RF bandwidth is only used for administrative tasks, such as account activation/de-activation, programming changes or upgrades. The transmission testing started September 10, 2008.

Due to transmission testing activities, some customers may experience minor, and very short audio interruptions/mutes only in certain Satellite Radio Channels (around 35 of the total channels may experience this condition). Some of these interruptions may not even be noticeable by the customer.

Should you receive customer reports of these conditions, do not replace any parts. These possible audio mutes are caused by an out-dated Firmware in the Satellite Radio Receiver and will be remedied over-the-air from SIRIUS XM over the next few months. This Firmware update is embedded in the regular SIRIUS XM programming, transparent to the customer and will not cause any additional audio interruptions. No action or intervention from dealership or customer is needed. Customers should continue to use their systems normally.

The Firmware update takes place when the vehicle is running and in reception of the SIRIUS XM Satellites.

This Bulletin will be updated when over-the-air programming is completed by SIRIUS XM.
