Campaign No. 2008110002, November 2008

TO: ALL MERCEDES-BENZ CENTERS

SUBJECT:
Models 211 and 219, Model Year 2009 Replace Circuit 30 Terminal Nut

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG has determined that the torque of the nut at the circuit 30 terminal at the prefuse box on the affected vehicles may not meet internal specifications. In extreme cases this could lead to a ground interruption and discharge of the battery. The red battery charge indicator in the instrument cluster would be illuminated should this ground interruption condition occur. Dealers will replace the circuit 30 terminal nut and re-torque the nut to the proper specification at the next workshop visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

- Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.

- Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Approximately 117 vehicles are affected.
