Save/retrieve function description of multicontour seat (MCS [MKS]) seat position, general
The adjusted pressures in the driver seat multicontour cushions can be stored in a non-volatile memory in the left front dynamic seat control unit(N32/15) and called up again. Storing and calling up the stored positions is performed using the memory switch (S22s6), and memory 1 switch (S22s7), memory 2 switch (S22s8) or memory 3 switch (S22s9) of the left front seat operation switch group (S22).

The position storage function is described on the driver seat for left-hand drive vehicles with code (409) Left/right front multicontour seat; however, this applies also for the passenger seat as well as for model 221 with code (406) Multicontour seats in rear and code (276) Memory in rear.

When storing, the position of the seat adjustment, steering column and both outside mirrors is stored in addition to the seat cushion contour for the driver seat.

The status of the switches is read in via the front door LIN (LIN B1) by the left front door control unit (N69/1) (model 221) or the left door control unit (N69/1) (model 216) and then sent via the interior CAN to the left front seat control unit (N32/1). The left front seat control unit then sends the command to store or adjust the corresponding position to the left front multicontour backrest control unit.

When saving the rear multicontour seat positions (model 221 with code (406) Multicontour seats in rear and code (276) Memory in rear), the signal is routed from the left rear seat operation switch group (S55/1) via the rear door LIN (LIN B2) to the left rear door control unit (N69/3) and the interior CAN to the rear seat control unit (N25/6), which then issues the corresponding command to the left rear multicontour backrest control unit (N32/20).

The position saving function has the following structure:

Saving a seat contour
The seat contour is stored using the memory switch and memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch of the left front seat operation switch group.

There are two possibilities for storing the seat contour:
- The memory switch is pressed and held and then memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch pressed for the respective storage space;
- The memory switch is pressed for t > 100 ms and then released. The memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch has to be pressed within a period of 0.2 to 3 seconds.

It is possible to overwrite the stored values at any time. No cushion contour has been saved at the factory (cushion at minimum pressure). It is possible to store an adjusted cushion contour during the massage function. The currently set cushion contour is stored. The massage program is not interrupted.

Retrieving a seat contour
A stored seat contour can be restored at a later time by pressing memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch.

A memory request issued via memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch during the "Massage program" function will cancel this function. After that, the requested memory position is actuated again. The "Massage program" function is not executed until it is requested again.
