Seatbelt Height Adjustment Nonfunctional
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the seatbelt height adjustment is nonfunctional, the rivet which retains the pin for the cable of the seat belt height adjustment mechanism on the seat rail may be broken. Repair pin attachment by performing the following:
Note:
If unable to find or repair pin, replace only the seat rail and not the entire seat.
1. Clamp broken pin in vice and smooth the bottom surface of break with file.
Note:
Anti-twist lock pin on bottom surface must be retained (Figure 1).
2. Apply an inside thread M4 of 10 mm depth to the center of the pin (Figure 1).
3. Move the seat to the forward position to gain access to the bore.
4. Screw the pin with the listed bolt and washer to the seat rail with 3.5 (+0.5) Nm (Figure 2 and 3).
5. Reattach cable for seat belt height adjustment.
6. Check for proper operation of the seat through its fore/aft entire adjustment range.
