Model 221.171/176/177/179/186 (with Option Code 223 or 223+224)

Rear Seat Belt Comfort Fit and/or Head Restraint Raising Mechanism Not Functioning When Fastening Seat Belt

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the rear seat belt comfort fit and/or head restraint raising mechanism not functioning when fastening seat belt, the wiring from the buckle may be damaged. To resolve, perform the following procedure.

1. Remove seat belt buckle. Refer to WIS document AR91.40-P-1516SX.





2. Secure the wiring on the replacement buckle using fabric tape as shown in (Figure 1).

3. Install in reverse order.

The wiring has been secured in production from December 2005.
