Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts

Jacket Tube:

Detaching

Component Identification:

1 Unscrew nut (1a) and pull out bolt (1).
2 Remove bracket (2).
3 Swivel jacket tube (71) upwards out of mounting console (87).

For this do not loosen the knee-lever connections (A, 6 pieces) under any circumstances as this causes play in the steering column.

Attaching
4 Move the jacket tube (71) into the mounting console (87).
5 Mount bracket (2).
6 Mount and tighten the bolt (1) and nut (1a). (1st stage)
7 Loosen bolted connection and tighten again. (3rd stage)
