GF82.30-P-3008LE Wiper Start Suppression Function

GF82.30-P-3008LE Wiper Start Suppression Function

Function requirements, general
^ C. 15R On
^ Rain/light sensor (B38/2) detects wetting of the windshield

Wiper start suppression, general
The wiper startup suppression prevents the actuation of the master wiper motor (M6/6) and the slave wiper motor (M6/7), despite a wipe request from the rain/light sensor.

The wiper start suppression function comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for wiper start suppression activation
^ Function sequence for wiper start suppression deactivation

Additional function requirements for wiper start suppression activation

^ Vehicle speed less than v = 3 km/h
^ Combination switch (S4) in position "1" or "2"

Function sequence for wiper start suppression activation
Opening one of the front doors stops the wiper operation in order to avoid spraying the person getting in or out.
Opening the driver door is recognized on model 221 by the left front door control unit (N69/1) via the left front rotary tumbler switch (A85s1) and on model 216 by the left door control unit (N69/1) via the left rotary tumbler switch (A85s1).
Opening the front passenger door is recognized on model 221 by the right front door control unit (N69/2) via the right front rotary tumbler switch (A85/1s1) and on model 216 by the right door control unit (N69/2) via the right rotary tumbler switch (A85/1s1).

This information is sent over the interior CAN to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). The front SAM control unit evaluates these signals and interrupts actuation of the wiper motor.
The wiper remains in the park position.
The position of the combination switch is read in by the steering column tube module (N80) and placed on the chassis CAN. The central gateway control unit (N93) routes the combination switch request to the front SAM control unit via the interior CAN.
The front SAM control unit receives the signal for the vehicle speed from the instrument cluster (A1). The central gateway control unit routes the vehicle speed to the front SAM control unit via the interior CAN.

Opening the driver/front passenger door does not interrupt wiper operation that is currently in progress. The wipers move to the park position.

^ Wiper start suppression activated

Function sequence for wiper start suppression deactivation
Actuation of the wiper motor takes place once the wiper startup suppression has been activated by one of the following events:
- Combination switch in position "3", "4" or touch wiping activated or
- Vehicle speed v > 3 km/h or
- Driver/front passenger doors are closed and intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80) signals drive stage "D" or "R" engaged
