Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror function requirements, general
^ Circuit 15R ON or circuit 15 ON
^ No overvoltage or undervoltage
Mirror glass adjustment of left/right outside mirror, function, general
The two outside mirror glasses can be adjusted electrically with the outside mirror adjustment switch (N72s7) and the left or right outside mirror adjustment selection switch (N72s8) by the driver.
The mirror glass adjustment of the left/right outside mirror comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Adjust mirror glass function sequence
^ Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass position (with code (241) Memory switch for left electrically adjustable driver seat)
Adjust mirror glass function sequence
The left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1) and right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) can be adjusted manually with the outside mirror adjustment switch.
The corresponding outside mirror is selected via the outside mirror adjustment selection switch. The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position with the outside mirror adjustment switch. The position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically. The upper control panel control unit (N72) transmit the adjustment request of the outside mirror adjustment switch and the status of the outside mirror adjustment selection switch via interior CAN. The information is read in by the left door control unit (N69/1) and right door control unit (N69/2).
The left door control unit actuates the:
- Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/1m1) and the
- Mirror in/out adjustment motor (M21/1m2).
The right door control unit actuates:
- Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/2m1) and the
- Mirror in/out adjustment motor (M21/2m2).
Additional function requirements for store/retrieve mirror glass position
^ Position measurement supplies valid readings
Store/retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
The store/retrieve mirror glass position subfunction comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Store mirror glass position function sequence
^ Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
Store mirror glass position function sequence
The manually adjusted position of the mirror glasses can be stored in the left seat adjustment switch group (S91/2) via the following switches:
- Memory button 1 switch (S91/2s6)
- Memory button 2 switch (S91/2s7)
- Memory button 3 switch (S91/2s8)
The memory request is read in by the left door control unit and relayed to the left front seat adjustment control unit with memory (N32/1) via the interior CAN:
Procedure for storing:
- Adjust mirror glasses as desired
- Actuate memory switch (S91/2s9) for t ≥ 40 ms and release
- Actuate one of the memory location switches within t < 3 s
This stores the current positions of the mirror glasses in the respective door control unit on the basis of the values of:
- Mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r2)
- Mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/1r3)
- Mirror up/down adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r2)
- Mirror in/out adjustment potentiometer (M21/2r3)
A blockage detection is carried out with the help of the position detection. The adjustment is terminated immediately if a blockage is detected.
Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
A stored mirror position can be called up via the memory location switches.
For this purpose, actuate one of the memory location switches until the stored position is reached.
Actuation of the left door control unit is read in and relayed to the left front seat adjustment control unit with memory via interior CAN.
This uses the interior CAN to prompt the door control unit to move to the stored position.
