Backup light actuation, general
The illumination of the road in the rear area of the vehicle when reversing is realized by the backup light actuation.

Backup lamp actuation function sequence
The circuit status of circuit 15 is made available on the interior CAN by the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73).

The electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) transmits the "R" selector lever position to the EIS [EZS] control unit via the engine compartment CAN.
The EIS [EZS] control unit transmits the status of the reverse gear via the interior CAN to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8), which then actuates the left backup lamp (E3e3) and the right backup lamp (E4e3).

In order to avoid the backup lamps coming on briefly when changing the gear range P to D via R, the status is transmitted with a delay (t = 500 ms).
