Component Identification:
Design
An "electronic key" is integrated in the transmitter key. This key includes an FM radio transmitter, an infrared transmitter/receiver unit, a computer chip as well as tow batteries (button cells). Moreover, the following controls and control indicators are integrated:
- Lock transmit button (1)
- Unlock transmit button (2)
- Remote trunk lid unlock button (3)
- Battery indicator lamp (4)
- Panic alarm (6) transmitter button (with code (763) Radio remote control with panic switch)
The mechanical emergency key (7) can be unlocked and removed with the unlocking slider (5).
Task
The transmitter key has the following tasks:
- Lock central locking (CL)
- Unlock CL ("selective/global")
- Remote trunk lid unlock
- Panic alarm
- Display of battery status for transmitter key via battery indicator lamp
With "selective" unlocking, the driver door, interior compartments and the fuel filler flap are unlocked when pressing again. With "global" unlocking, the vehicle is unlocked completely by pressing one.
Switchover unlocking from "Selective" to "Global" or vice versa:
- Press and hold "Lock" transmit button and "Unlock" transmit button simultaneously for approx. 5 seconds until the battery indicator lamp flashes twice.
Panic alarm (with code (763) Radio remote control with panic switch)
Actuate panic alarm transmit button:
- The panic alarm is triggered when actuated for t = 2 s.
- The panic alarm is terminated when reactuated for t = 0.5 s.
