GF77.30-P-3004RC Subsequently Locking of Vario Roof, Function

GF77.30-P-3004RC Subsequently Locking Of Vario Roof, Function
- refinement package
- as of model year 09

Function requirements, general
^ No engine start (c. 50 OFF)
^ Status of Vario roof recognized (determination of Vario roof position)
^ Trunk lid closed
^ Luggage compartment separation closed

Subsequently locking Vario roof, general function
If the Vario roof is not completely locked following an actuation, the "subsequent relocking" function can be activated. In this case the power windows are not actuated in contrast to regular Vario roof operation. There are two possibilities for subsequent locking:
^ Subsequent locking via Vario roof actuation switch
^ Subsequent locking with transmitter key with code (880) Closing system with infrared remote control

Subsequent locking via Vario roof actuation switch

Additional function requirements
^ Circuit 15 ON

In contrast to normal Vario roof actuation, the following requirements are not important for relocking:
- Power window error/power window positions
- Vehicle speed signals

Function
The Vario roof is not locked completely following actuation. Here, the "subsequent locking" function can be activated by reactuating the Vario roof actuation switch (S84s1). The convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) is reactuated for a defined period of time and the locking procedure is repeated, whereby, in contrast to normal Vario roof operation, the power windows are not actuated.

Subsequent locking with transmitter key with code (880) Closing system with infrared remote control

Additional function requirements
^ Circuit 15C OFF

In contrast to the subsequent Vario roof locking function via the Vario roof actuation switch, it is possible with this function to open (emergency opening) or close the side windows centrally when the Vario roof is closed (except on USA version, code (494)).

Emergency opening
The Vario is closed and locked in the end position. The button on the transmitter key (A8/1) via infrared signal "Close Vario roof" is pressed. Then the front and rear windows are moved up. When the actuation direction is reversed within t< 4 s on the transmitter key via the infrared signal "Open Vario roof", emergency opening of the front windows is accomplished.

The position of the front window is not important for emergency opening. The rear window and the convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit do not participate in the emergency opening operation. When the direction of actuation is reversed after t > 4 s on the transmitter key via the infrared signal "Open Vario roof", a "normal" operation is started.

With code (494) the side windows can only be closed with the power window switches. The side windows are not raised automatically with code (494).

If, after emergency opening, an opening request is received from the transmitter key via the infrared signal, a "normal" "Open Vario roof" operation is started.

Closing centrally
The Vario roof is opened and locked in its end position. The button on the transmitter key via infrared signal "Open Vario roof" is pressed. The front and rear window are lowered. The convertible top mechanism hydraulic unit does not participate on central locking with transmitter key () via infrared signal.
