Interior Light Switch: Description and Operation
GF82.20-P-2000RC Manual Interior Lights Control, Function
Manual interior lights control in general
The manual interior lights control can be used to switch on/off the interior, reading, vanity mirror and glove compartment illumination as well as the stowage compartment lighting. Pressing the switches - some of which are mounted to the housing of the overhead control panel control unit (N70) - applies voltage to the corresponding components.
The manual interior lights control feature comprises the following subfunctions:
^ Function sequence for interior illumination
^ Function sequence for reading illumination
^ Function sequence for vanity mirror illumination
^ Function sequence for glove compartment illumination
^ Function sequence for stowage compartment lighting (with code (876) Interior lights package)
Function sequence for interior illumination
Actuation of the interior illumination components is done in each case in dimmed state by the overhead control panel control unit.
The following components in the interior illumination can be switched on and off by pressing the corresponding switches:
- Left interior lights (N70e4) and right interior lights (N70e5) via the dome lamp switch ON and OFF (N70s4)
Function sequence for reading lights The reading lights
are used to illuminate a defined area, without generating any dazzling effect. The following components in the reading lights can be switched on and off by pressing the corresponding switches:
- Left reading lamp (A67e1) in the inside rearview mirror unit(A67) (with code (876) Interior lights package) or Left reading lamp (N70e2) in the overhead control panel control unit (without code (876) Interior lights package) via the left reading lamp switch (N70s6)
- Right reading lamp (A67e2 ) in the inside rearview mirror unit (with code (876) Interior lights package) or Right reading lamp (N70e3) in the overhead control panel control unit (without code (876) Interior lights package) via the right reading lamp switch (N70s7)
Function sequence for vanity mirror illumination
The following components for the vanity mirror illumination can be switched on and off manually by opening and closing the corresponding vanity mirror illumination cover:
- Left front vanity mirror illumination (E14/6) via the left front vanity mirror illumination switch (S101)
- Right front vanity mirror illumination (E14/7) via the right front vanity mirror illumination switch (S102)
The power supply of the vanity mirror illumination switch is interrupted by closing the vanity mirror illumination cover or automatically after t = 30 min after circuit 15 OFF to save the battery (G1).
Additional function requirements for glove compartment illumination
^ Circuit 15R ON
Function sequence for glove compartment illumination
The glove box illumination with switch (E13/2) is supplied with voltage from the driver SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1).
When opening the glove compartment door, voltage is switched through to the glove box illumination.
The power supply for the glove box illumination is interrupted by closing the glove compartment door or automatically after expiry of t = 15 min after bus idle to save the battery.
Additional function requirements for stowage compartment lighting
^ Circuit 15R ON
Function sequence for stowage compartment lighting
The stowage compartment illumination between backrests (E13/3) and the armrest stowage compartment illumination (E36) cannot be switched on and off manually.
The power supply for the stowage compartment illumination is provided through the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) via the terminal connector sleeve 15R (Z3/12). At circuit 15R OFF the stowage compartment illumination is switched off.
