GF40.15-P-0001-08RC Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM [RDK]) Messages
GF40.15-P-0001-08RC Tire pressure monitor (TPM [RDK]) messages
- with CODE (470) Tire pressure monitor (base) Fa. Schrader
The messages from the tire pressure monitor (TPM) system are displayed in the upper multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1).
A distinction is made between the following:
- Menu displays and
- warning messages
The menu displays can be called up in the instrument cluster using the tire pressure monitor menu.
Warning messages are issued automatically.
Depending on the warning message the tire pressure monitor warning lamp (A1 e66) is also actuated.
Menu display 1
The TPM [RDK] system is not available until circuit 15 ON.
Menu display 2
The TPM [RDK] system is nonfunctional. Possible causes are:
- The instrument cluster does not receive any valid signals from the TPM [RDK] control unit (N88)
- TPM [RDK] control unit nonfunctional (shutoff on account of malfunction)
- Failure of left front TPM wheel sensor (A69/1), right front TPM wheel sensor (A69/2), left rear TPM wheel sensor (A69/3) or right rear TPM wheel sensor (A69/4)
Menu display 3
Normal status of TPM [RDK] system
Warning message 1
The TPM [RDK] system is nonfunctional. Possible causes are:
- The instrument cluster does not receive any valid signals from the TPM [RDK] control unit
- TPM [RDK] control unit nonfunctional (shutoff on account of malfunction)
The tire pressure monitor warning lamp flashes on and off for t = 60 s and then stays on permanently.
Warning message 2
If the air pressure drops for t > 12 min by p = 0.25 bar below the specified pressure stored in the TPM [RDK] control unit in at least one wheel, this is displayed in the upper multifunction display. At the end of the journey (terminal 15 Off) the driver's attention is drawn to the pressure correction due. The driver is therefore requested to check the tire inflation pressure of all wheels, to correct them if necessary and then to restart the TPM [tire pressure monitoring] system (soft warning).
This message is self-acknowledging and disappears after t = 30 s.
Warning message 3
Distinct pressure loss at tire detected ("hard warning").
The tire pressure monitor warning lamp is actuated permanently and in addition an acoustic notification is emitted.
Warning message 4
Rapid loss of pressure in a tire.
The tire pressure monitor warning lamp is actuated permanently and in addition an acoustic notification is emitted.
Warning message 5
The TPM [RDK] control unit does not receive any signals from the wheel sensors.
Possible cause: Wheels fitted without wheel sensors.
Warning message 6
The TPM [RDK] system is temporarily inactive.
Possible cause: Interference transmitter or over/under voltage.
Warning message 7
Operation feedback after manual restart.
