GF27.10-P-0001ACK Automatic transmission (AT), function
- Transmission 722.695

Automatic transmission (AT) general
Transmission 722.6 is an electronically controlled 5-speed transmission with a lockup clutch in the torque converter. The ratios for the gear stages are achieved by 3 planetary gear sets. The 5th gear is designed with a step-up ratio as an overdrive. Shifting is electronically actuated, whereby the gears are shifted by the corresponding combination of 3 hydraulically actuated multi-disk brakes, 3 hydraulically actuated multi-disk clutches and 2 mechanical overrunning clutches.

Transmission 722.6 can be subdivided into the following assemblies:
- Torque converter with torsional damper and torque converter lockup clutch
- Oil pump for generating the necessary oil pressure and for reliable lubrication of the actuators and bearing points
- Transmission housing with mechanical transmission components (planetary gear sets, park pawl, multidisk clutches and multidisk brakes) and controller unit

Data is exchanged with the following control units via the engine compartment CAN (CAN-C):
- Instrument cluster (A1)
- Electronic selector lever module control unit (/)N15/5
- ME-SFI [ME] control unit (/)N3/10
- ESP and BAS control unit ()N47-5
- EIS [EZS] control unit (N73)
- Steering column module (N80)
