Component Identification:

Location
The pressure sensor is located at the top left of the cylinder head and connected to the intake manifold by a rubber hose.

Task
The pressure sensor detects absolute pressure in the variable intake manifold (intake manifold air pressure). The intake manifold air pressure serves the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) when starting the engine for recognizing the air mass and for a running engine for monitoring the measured air mass.

Component Identification:

Function
The intake manifold air pressure deforms the membrane which acts on a potentiometer. This alters the resistance value of the potentiometer and influences the signal voltage which serves the ME control unit as information about the intake manifold air pressure.
