GF40.15-P-5123LEA TPM (RDK) Control Unit, Component Description

GF40.15-P-5123LEA TPM [RDK] control unit, component description
- with CODE (475) Tire pressure monitor (premium)
- as of model year 2010

Component Identification:

Location
The TPM [RDK] control unit is located on the underfloor of the vehicle in the area of the rear axle differential.

Task
^ Reading in of sensors and signals
^ Evaluation of input factors
^ Actuating components

Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
^ Two-way radio
^ Chassis CAN (CAN E)

Two-way radio
The following sensors are read in via radio:
- Left front TPM wheel sensor (A69/1)
- Right front TPM wheel sensor (A69/2)
- Left rear TPM wheel sensor (A69/3)
- Right rear TPM wheel sensor (A69/4)

Chassis CAN
The TPM [RDK] control unit is a subscriber of the chassis CAN, it communicates with the central gateway control unit (N93). The following messages from the associated control units or components are passed on by the central gateway control unit:
- Vehicle speed signal from instrument cluster (A1) via the central CAN (CAN F)
- Outside temperature by front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) via the interior CAN (CAN B) from the outside temperature indicator temperature sensor (B14) via direct lines

Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

Component actuation
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
^ Chassis CAN

Chassis CAN
The TPM [RDK] control unit is a subscriber of the chassis CAN, it communicates with the central gateway control unit (). The following messages are passed on to the associated control unit by the central gateway control unit:
- Menu displays and warning messages to the instrument cluster via the central CAN

Design
The central antenna is integrated in the TPM control unit.
