GF82.10-P-3012TX Spare Lamp Actuation, Function

When the exterior lights are switched on, the bulbs and LEDs are continuously monitored for short-circuit and open-circuit by the respective control units:
^ The driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) for the left front lamp unit (E1)
^ Front passenger-side SAM control unit (N10/11) for the right front lamp unit (E2)
^ Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) for the left taillamp (E3) and the right taillamp (E4)

In the event of failure of lighting relevant to safety the corresponding substitute lamp is actuated.
The scope of substitute light actuations depends on the national version. Flashing functions have priority over steady lights. With a time-out of the national information of the central gateway control unit (N93) and in the event of a failure of the left turn signal lamp (E1e5) or the right turn signal lamp (E2e5), no backup lamp is activated.
