^ Status of pneumatic pump for dynamic seat control (M40/1) on interior CAN OK
^ No on-board electrical system limp-home mode
The position storage function is described at the driver seat for left-hand drive vehicles by way of an example, but this also applies for the front passenger seat.
Function description for position storage, general
The pressures adjusted in the driver seat's multicontour cushions and the setting of the "dynamic seat" dynamic program can be stored in the non-volatile memory of the left front dynamic seat control unit (N32/19) and called up again. The stored positions are saved and retrieved via the memory switch (S22s6) and memory 1 switch (S22s7), memory 2 switch (S22s8), or memory 3 switch (S22s9) of the left front seat operation switch group (S22).
Storage in the instrument cluster (A1) is confirmed by an acknowledge tone.
While saving, not only the seat cushion contour but also the position of the seat adjustment, the steering column, and the two outside mirrors on the driver-side are stored. The position of the seat adjustment is stored additionally on the passenger side.
The status of the switch is read in via the front door LIN (LIN B1) by the left front door control unit (N69/1) and transmitted to the left front seat control unit (N32/1) via the interior CAN. The left front seat control unit then transmits the storage or adjustment command for the corresponding position to the left front dynamic seat control unit.
Abort conditions
- Adjustment request from driver seat control unit
The position saving function has the following structure:
^ Saving a seat contour
^ Retrieving a seat contour
Saving a seat contour
The seat contour is stored using the memory switch and memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch of the left front seat operation switch group.
There are 2 options available for storing the seat contour:
- The memory switch is pressed and held and then memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch pressed for the respective storage space.
- The memory switch is pressed for t > 100 ms and then released. The memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch has to be pressed within a period of 0.2 to 3 seconds.
It is possible to overwrite the stored values at any time. No cushion contour has been saved at the factory (cushion at minimum pressure).
It is possible to store an adjusted cushion contour during the massage function. The currently set cushion contour is then stored. The massage program is not interrupted.
Retrieving a seat contour
A stored seat contour can be restored at a later time by pressing memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch. Hold down memory 1 switch, memory 2 switch or memory 3 switch until the stored position is completely adjusted. The "Massage program" function is interrupted temporarily until this time.
When the stored position is actuated, the position of the seat adjustment, steering column and both outside rearview mirrors are changed simultaneously in addition to actuate the seat cushion contour.. The position of the seat adjustment is stored additionally on the passenger side
