GF82.15-P-3000CE Headlamp Cleaning System, Function
- with CODE (600) Headlamp cleaning system
Function requirements, general
^ Circuit 61 ON
^ Low beam switched on
Circuit status circuit 61 is transmitted via the chassis CAN to the front SAM control unit by the CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine).
Headlamp cleaning system, general
The headlamp cleaning system cleans the headlamps automatically.
Function sequence for headlamp cleaning system
After the first washing request via the combination switch (S4), the position of which is read in by the steering column tube module control unit (N80), the request is sent via the chassis CAN (CAN E) to the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1). This then actuates the headlamp cleaning system pump (M5/2).
The headlamp cleaning system pump is activated again after an additional ten wash requests via the combination switch.
The number of washing requests is determined by a counter in the front SAM control unit. The counter is reset automatically when the ten washing requests have been performed or manually by switching off circuit 15 via the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73).
The front SAM control unit detects the fact that the low beams are switched on via the exterior lights switch (S1), the status of which is read in by the front SAM control unit via the instrument panel LIN (LIN 1).
