Authorize mobile phone
A mobile phone must be authorized before it can be used via the mobile phone system. To do this, press the "TEL" function key on the audio equipment and select the "Telephone" submenu in the function bar. Then select "Bluetooth telephones" and then "Update". Several mobile phones can be authorized. Following the update, the authorized mobile phone can be selected from the list of phones that is displayed and registered.
The Bluetooth function is enabled and disabled by selecting "System", "Bluetooth" and "Activate Bluetooth".
Using Bluetooth(R), it is possible to connect modern communication devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs) or laptops to the telephone system quickly and easily. Bluetooth is an open global standard for establishing wireless Bluetooth device connections, and is based on radio technology in the 2.4 GHz range.
One advantage of Bluetooth, next to the availability of Bluetooth devices that is already quite wide today, is the uncomplicated and spontaneous connection of Bluetooth devices to a Bluetooth network (ad-hoc network). The high level of data security (128-bit encoding) and the limited radius (approx. 10 m) of such a network is what makes the use of Bluetooth in the vehicle interesting.
Establish telephone connection, make a call
A telephone connection can be set up by accepting a call or as follows:
