Differences from basic telephony are marked by the symbol. All variants use Bluetooth technology for data transfer. The mobile phone used must support the hands-free profile 1.0 or 1.5. The mobile phones that meet these requirements are listed at: http://www.mercedes-benz.com/connect
The telephone call is then set up and accepted in hands-free mode.
Incoming telephone audio signals are output over the vehicle's speaker system and a currently active audio source is muted (MUTE). You can switch to "Private mode" by activating "Private mode" via the mobile phone if the mobile phone supports "Private mode".
When dialing using the buttons on the mobile phone, the telephone call is carried out in "Private Mode" if the mobile phone supports "Private Mode" and "Private Mode" has been activated.
The following partial functions are described in separate documents:
^ Telephone switch-on/switch-off characteristics, function

In addition, the telephone book entries can be loaded into the telephone book in the audio device (external data), whereby they are available permanently when the mobile phone is no longer in the vehicle. External telephone book entries can be deleted separately. A telephone connection can be established directly from the telephone book entry.

The Bluetooth interface of the mobile phone and the Bluetooth antenna (A2/91) can be used to transmit data from other external devices (e.g. Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), laptop, etc.) into the address book. The data are then permanently available as an entry.
